The following goals express the aspirations of the President’s Council on Sustainable
Development. They reflect the Council's understanding that it is essential to seek economic
prosperity, environmental protection, and social equity together.
Accompanying the goals are
indicators of progress, yardsticks to measure progress toward each goal.
