"Trust in the Lord." we are all quick to say but how many of us know how to really do just that. Trusting in God mean that you are sold out completely to him. Trusting that He will never allow anything to overtake you. That is not something easily done. One reason why is because it requires you to relinquish control. It is human nature to desire to control ourselves and our surroundings. To give up that control to the wisdom and authority of someone else, even if that someone else is our all knowing and omnipresent creator, is the hardest sacrifice one might ever make. However, once we learn how to earnestly submit we will be one step further in our relationship with Christ. Another reason is due to our lack of trust and faith.

Throughout our course of life, we have placed our trust and faith in people who for one reason or another have not lived up to their promises. We have tried to perfect our faith by placing it in imperfect beings. God wants you to place your faith in him. He is all sufficient. He cares too much to ever let you down. The Lord says it in his word, "And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail (Luke 16:17)." He is a God who will rather destroy heaven, earth and everything He created before He will allow his word to fail. So we have to trust. God isn't slacking concerning his word, but rather it will accomplish that which it was sent to do (Isaiah 55:11). I encourage you to seek God and his wisdom when and before you go through your pain, heartache, distress and misdirection. For as you draw nigh unto him He will draw nigh unto you.
