Conference Travel Support Policy
DCAE Faculty Conference Travel Support Policy
We are currently accepting applications for the 2014-2015 academic year as of July 15, 2014 - May 11, 2015.
The DCAE is committed to advancing best practices in the teaching and learning process by helping our faculty share their teaching knowledge and expertise with fellow scholars, while also providing opportunities for faculty to participate in activities that support their own professional development. With this in mind, the DCAE is proud to offer financial support for full-time Drexel faculty members wishing to present at professional conferences that showcase best teaching and learning practices in Higher Education. Faculty submitting proposals to discipline-specific conferences on issues related to effective teaching are also welcome to apply.
In order to qualify for consideration, interested full-time faculty members must submit a completed DCAE Request for Funding Form at the time of the submission of their proposal. This form is separate from any materials requested by the conference organizers, and should be submitted to email@example.com at the same time as the proposal submission to the conference. If the proposal is accepted, the faculty member must notify the DCAE via e-mail within 10 business days in order to be eligible for support. Depending on the amount of applications for funding within a given academic year, the DCAE will consider submissions for either partial or full support. Please note that preference will be given to faculty members that have received a DCAE participation certificate within the previous two academic years (click here for more information on DCAE certificates).
As a part of receiving funding from the DCAE, the faculty member must agree to present their work at the Showcase of Teaching, hosted every Spring. For the 2013-2014 academic year, the Showcase will take place on April 15th. For more information on the event and to submit your proposal, please visit the Showcase 2014 page.
For more information on this initiative please contact the DCAE via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or via telephone at 215-895-4973.
We look forward to working with you and supporting your endeavor.
