Information for Students Under the Age of 18

Parent PIN Information

Students under the age of 18 at the time of application are required to have a parent/guardian co-sign the Housing Agreement.

The parents/guardians of students under the age of 18 have been sent a "Parent PIN" number via email. This Parent PIN must be entered during step 10 of the Housing Application in order for the Application to be considered complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Parent PIN number?

The Parent PIN number is a personal access code that provides a way for parents or guardians to electronically co-sign the Housing Agreement. This is required for students who are under age 18 at the time they apply for on-campus housing.

Where can it be found?

The Parent PIN number is emailed directly during the month of March or 2 weeks after a student matriculates to Drexel, whichever comes later, to the parents/guardians of every student under the age of 18. The Parent PIN is emailed to the parent email address listed on the student's application to the Univeristy.

Why is it important?

It is currently the only way for a parent or guardian to electronically co-sign the housing contract with students who are still minors by law (under age 18). In such cases, this co-signature is legally required in order for the contract to be valid.

How do I use it?

The parent or guardian inserts (types in) the Parent PIN number in the appropriate box during the housing application. That box will appear on the last step of the housing application (but only for students who are under 18).

Is it required?

Yes, but only for students who are under 18. In fact, the Parent PIN number box will not even appear in the student application if that student is at least age 18 as of the day he or she applies for housing.

What if my parents lose it?

The parent or guardian must call the Housing Office at (215) 895-6155 and provide the student's information (including student ID #, home address, and birth date) to obtain the PARENT PIN number over the phone. For security purposes, Parent PIN numbers will NOT be communicated via email, and cannot be changed.
