When can I see my apartment?

We are unable to offer tours of Stiles Hall. A 360 tour is available at Stiles Hall. Bedrooms are approximately 10’ x 10’.

Can you tell me my roommate contact information?

Roommate contact information is sent with the move in information. If you have questions regarding your assigned roommate please email us at gradhousing@drexel.edu.

Can I have packages shipped before I arrive?

We have limited space for packages and therefore cannot store packages before you arrive. Please arrange for your packages to be delivered on or after the day you arrive.

What are the rates for temporary housing?

The rate for temporary housing is $41.50 per night. Temporary Housing is only available to those temporarily attending or affiliated with Drexel University and/or Drexel College of Medicine for a period of time between 3 days and 6 weeks. A non refundable deposit will be required to reserve their room. All temporary housing residents must follow all University Housing procedures and have a valid Drexel identification card. Guests must be over the age of 21. This housing is not available to those with spouses or family. This housing is not intended for current full time Drexel students.

Can I move my furniture in early?

Your furniture must arrive when you do on your pre designated check in date.

Can I move in early because my program begins earlier than the scheduled move- in date?

Stiles Hall is aware that certain programs do not follow the traditional Drexel Semester/Quarter and therefore we accommodate students based on their program needs. Please check here for updated move in information specific to your program. Please contact Stiles Hall for any special requests.

Can I change my apartment once I get there?

The Residential Living Office staff will try to resolve any roommate conflicts, and if not we will take the appropriate steps to remedy the situation if space allows.

Can I store things in my roommate’s bedroom?

No. Furniture and personal belongings are not to be stored in the vacant room before the allotted move-in date. If you elect to make other arrangements, they must be made with your roommate(s).

Is there parking around Stiles Hall?

Drexel University does not own or affiliate with any parking lots in Center City. We suggest students not bring a car unless it is a necessity. Stiles hall is conveniently located near all modes of public transportation. Please be aware that the average cost of parking in Center City starts at approximately $175 per month. We suggest an internet search of “parking lots near 19102” to compare rates. Main campus offers parking, please visit www.drexel.edu/parking for rates and availability. There is a shuttle between campuses if you choose to park there.

Is there a waiting list for Stiles Hall?

Apartments for the 2010-2011 academic year are still available.

Can I live there with my family?

At this time Stiles Hall reserves and provides housing for single graduate and post baccalaureate students of Drexel University and Drexel College of Medicine.

Is there a deadline for housing applications for Stiles Hall?

Stiles Hall is open year round. We accept 2011-2012 applications on a space available basis. Applications for Fall 2012-Summer 2013 will be available in Spring 2012.

Will I get my housing deposit back if I decide not to live there?

If you decline your housing assignment before the designated deadline you will receive a refund for your housing deposit. If you have already accepted your housing assignment or have not responded by the designated deadline you will forfeit your housing deposit. Are there gym facilities for students who live at Stiles Hall?

What is the general size of a bedroom?

Stiles hall is made up of one, two and three bedroom apartments. The average bedroom size is 10 feet by 10 feet. The common areas vary in size. 

How do you assign roommates?

Many aspects are taken into consideration when assigning roommates. Based on your preference of a one, two or three bedroom apartment we try to match you with other students in your program. If you know someone who is also applying to live at Stiles and you would like to live with them, you will need to make sure each applicant has put on their application all preferred roommates.                            

Are utilities included?

All utilities are included in the housing rate. This includes television cable, phone and internet access as well. Laundry is not included in Stiles Hall rent.

Does Drexel University require enrollment in a meal plan if you live at Stiles?

Stiles Hall is graduate housing that is located in Center City and therefore we do not require enrollment in a meal plan. Many students on this campus take advantage of the Drexel Dragon Dollars program. This option allows anyone with a current Dragoncard to place a monetary value on the card and it can be utilized at the cafeteria located in Hahnemann Hospital. When do I move in?

Students will receive an e-mail about three weeks prior to move-in with detailed information on the process.
