Graduate Housing Cancellations
Graduate students have a separate Housing Agreement. Graduate students have varied move in dates so they do not have a set calendar for cancellations. Cancellation policies for Graduate Students are based on the date their program begins.
Acceptable Reasons
- Not attending University (includes first year students that decide not to attend Drexel)
- Academic withdraw
- Co-op or clinical outside the area* (for students who receive a co-opor clinical rotation more than 10 miles away from Drexel's campus)
- Study Abroad
- Not taking classes or not on co-op for a quarter or taking a Leave of Absence
The housing deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE for all acceptable reasons, except co-oping outside the area and studying abroad.
The Cancellation Fee for each quarter or semester being cancelled is based on the date of receipt by University Housing of the Request for Release form, as outlined below.
| Reciept of Request for Release Form |
Cancellation Fees for Acceptable Reasons |
| Prior to the 1st day of classes of a term |
Full refund for all terms cancelled |
| During the first three weeks of a term |
Charges prorated based on date of check out |
| After the third week of a term |
No refund for that term but full refund for all future terms |
In the event a Resident fails to provide written notice of their intention to cancel the Agreement using the Request for Release form, or fails in any other manner to comply with the cancellation provisions of this Agreement,
the Resident will be liable for all housing charges for the remainder of the term of this Agreement.
Unacceptable Reasons
Students seeking to cancel their Housing Agreement for any other reason than those listed above will be subject to Cancellation fees. A student's contractual obligation for another living arrangement will not be honored as a valid reason for release from this Agreement. The University strictly enforces its cancellations policies. All students cancelling housing for an unacceptable reason will forfeit the $200 housing deposit, regardless of cancellation date.
