Winter Break

Winter Break 2011

A formalized Fall Closing notice will be sent out to all residential students via their Drexel University e-mail account during Week 8 with personalized information regarding term break closing procedures.

As a reminder, the residence halls do not close for the Thanksgiving holiday. All students may stay in their assignment with unrestricted access to their residence hall room. During this low-occupancy period, University Housing (UH) and the Residential Living Office (RLO) strongly encourage those students who stay on campus to be mindful of their surroundings and to stay safe.

The Fall 2011 academic term ends on Saturday, December 10, 2011. The following residence halls will close at 10 a.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2011 for the Winter Break:
• Towers Hall
• Myers Hall
• Calhoun Hall
• Van Rensselaer Hall
• Millennium Hall
• Kelly Hall

Students who are returning to the University for the Winter 2012 academic term may leave their belongings in their residence hall room.  Students do not have to move out their belongings between terms.  However, students will NOT have access to their residence hall or room during the Winter Break and are encouraged to bring any valuables with them during break.

The following residence halls and properties will remain open throughout the entire Winter Break for Sophomore-Senior students only; there is no charge for Winter Break housing. In an effort to support upper class residential students on Co-Op students, these residence halls remain open:
• North Hall
• Caneris Hall
• Race Street Residences
• University Crossings
• Stiles Hall
• The Axis
• All 34th Street Houses

Regardless of residence hall assignment, students not planning to return to the University, or those students without a Winter 2012 academic term assignment must move-out, return their room key, and fully comply with all procedures (which will be outlined in the Closing Notice) by 10 a.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2011.

Please monitor your travel plans carefully! University Housing strictly enforces all closing deadlines.

All residence halls will open for the Winter 2012 academic term at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012. The Winter term begins on Monday, January 9, 2012.
