Obtaining a DragonCard
There is no charge for an initial DragonCard for students, faculty and staff. There is, however, a $20 replacement fee, to re-issue a card that is lost, stolen, or damaged.
Students: In order to obtain your Drexel DragonCard, new students must submit an ID photo online before orientation. Please review the following information before continuing to the DragonCard photo submission website. A valid photo driver’s license, passport, or state-issued photo ID is required to be presented to the DragonCard representative in order to receive a DragonCard.
Do’s:
1: DO take a new, current photo
2: DO stand in front of a plain white background. We suggest a white or off white wall.
3: DO face completely forward.
4: DO take a head shot that does not go below your shoulders. This is similar to a passport photo.
Don’ts:
1: DON’T use a previous photo from a social networking site.
2: DON’T take the photo outdoors.
3: DON’T wear a hat or sunglasses.
Click the following link to submit your ID photo. After logging in, proceed to SUBMIT ID PHOTO link on the left hand side of the screen.

Faculty and Staff:
Once all new-hire paperwork has been processed, visit any of the three DragonCard Offices to have a photo taken and the DragonCard issued. A valid photo driver’s license, passport, or state-issued photo ID is required to be presented to the DragonCard representative in order to receive a DragonCard.
If you are also taking class while employed by Drexel, you will receive a card with the designation of your primary status with the University. In most cases, this status is “Faculty” or “Staff” and not “Student.”
No person may be in possession of more than one DragonCard.
Departmental Dragon Dollar Cards:
Departmental Dragon Dollar Cards reduce the need for petty cash and cash exposure, assist in making simple, non-personal transactions, and allow departments to utilize the University club and make purchases at all Dragon Dollars merchant locations. For more information on eligibility, responsibilities and what the Departmental DragonCard cannot be used for, please see the Departmental Dragon Dollar Card Policies [PDF].
