Drexel Farmers Market 2012

The weekly Drexel Farmers Market can be found on the University City Main Campus on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Now in its fourth year, Drexel Business Services is proud to feature the weekly offering of fresh vegetables and fruit to the campus community. Due to the construction on Chestnut Square, the Farmers Market will be located at 33rd and Market Streets at the Dragon Statue. The market provides the Drexel community with the opportunity to purchase fresh and locally grown food from King’s Dutch Country Goods. A variety of fruits, vegetables, baked goods, canned and preserved fruits and vegetables, cheeses as well as yogurt are offered.

The Drexel Farmers Market is part of a growing interest in the farm-to-fork style of eating. Drexel Business Services continuously develops and implements sustainable, environmentally friendly initiatives on all three University campuses structured around three guiding principles: Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. The partnership with our local vendor furthers this mission by bringing fresh and homemade goods to our Drexel community. Every Tuesday, the farmer is available for all patrons of the market to meet, get to know and ask questions about the food they are buying - an essential component of a local, sustainable food system.
