Ph.D. in Culture and Communication
Drexel University is proud to announce its new Ph.D. program in Communication. As the name indicates, it is an interdisciplinary program, drawing on strengths in anthropology, sociology, criminal justice, and environmental studies.

Goals
The Ph.D. program seeks to develop theoretically sophisticated scholars adept at multiple methodologies devoted to important and practical problems in the field.
Program Requirements
Drexel’s current Masters Program in Communication requires 45 credits, but students may enter the Ph.D. program with only a B.A. or B.S. After passage of Ph.D. qualifying exam, students take another 15 credit hours of coursework and 30 hours of research credit to pursue their dissertation.
Admission Criteria
Resume; minimum 3.0 GPA, GRE scores, 1500 word statement of purpose, and three letters of recommendation. TOEFL for international students.
Assistantships
Teaching Assistantships are available to some incoming students, and funding in this capacity continues in various forms throughout the student’s progress toward Ph.D. qualification.
