Lauryn Escobar is a Social Media Marketer, Digital Media strategist, Community Manager and Copywriter for Liberty Tax Service. Lauryn has over 5 years of experience in the media including press release writing and distribution, freelance journalism for sports, website copywriting, and feature article writing for local publications and student newspapers in her hometown. Lauryn is a candidate for her Masters in Communication from Drexel University and is expected to complete her requirements during the summer quarter of 2014. Lauryn believes building a better community begins with assisting the non-profits that make a difference in the everyday lives of individuals.

Sandy Farnan

Sandy Farnan is a technical communications specialist for the Project Management Institute, a not-for-profit, membership association serving more than a half a million project professionals worldwide. She specializes in technical documentation and training, online learning, and organizational communications with a focus on making technology and project management understandable and accessible to the general audience. Since earning an MS in technical communications from Drexel University in 2010, Sandy has worked as an adjunct professor of communications at Drexel, Neumann University, and Penn State Brandywine.

Jennifer James

Jennifer James is currently a technical writer at Unisys, a worldwide IT company located in Malvern, PA. She earned her BA in English from West Chester University in West Chester, PA and she is also a student at Drexel University earning her master’s degree in Scientific and Technical Communication. Jennifer has experience in freelance content and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). She also has an interest in online media and blogging and had a piece entitled “Family Trees and Racial Identity” published on Huffington Post in May 2013. Jennifer completed a grant writing internship at the Please Touch Museum for their educational outreach programming for low-income neighborhoods in Philadelphia, PA.

Holly Norris

Holly Norris is a 2013 graduate of Drexel’s Master of Science in Communication program. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a concentration in Rhetorical Studies from Villanova University in 2010. Currently, Ms. Norris works for a law firm in Radnor, PA and provides assistance to attorneys and paralegals by formatting and editing legal documents. Ms. Norris has previous experience working with non-profit groups in the Philadelphia area, including website editing services for an organization that supports recently released inmates in an effort to end violence in communities.

Amanda Smith

Amanda Smith is a contract closeout specialist for SAIC. She obtained her undergraduate degree in International Studies - Europe at Portland State University in Portland, OR, and graduated with a Master's degree in Publication Management from Drexel University in 2012. She has previously worked at Republic Bank where her duties included reviewing collateral property reports and maintaining department manuals. Her volunteer work includes the Free Library of Philadelphia, and she resides in Knoxville, TN.

Erica Zelinger is a communication specialist in the Pennoni Honors College at Drexel University. She has worked as a writer, editor and content director for newspapers, magazines and a destination marketing firm. She freelances for various tourism clients including visitpa.com for whom she wrote “Made in PA: Peek behind the packaging on one of Pennsylvania’s factory tours.” Erica’s first assignment for Drexel Edits was to edit a grant proposal for Ivan " Pick" Brown Memorial, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving youth, teens and the elderly in South, Southwest and West Philadelphia communities.
