Giuseppe (Peppo) Valetto holds a Laurea in Electronic Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and an MS and PhD in Computer Science from Columbia University. He has experience in both industrial and academic research, including a post-doc at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. In September 2007, he joined the Department of Computer Science as an assistant professor. His research interests encompass two main areas: the engineering of autonomic systems, focusing on bio-inspired mechanisms for the self-organization in large-scale software systems; and the cooperation and coordination in software development teams, in particular for large-scale distributed software projects.
