SEPTA Student ComPass Program

About the SEPTA ComPass Program
ComPass is a SEPTA sponsored and Drexel University subsidized discount program available to currently enrolled Drexel full-time students that provides students with a 10% discount on monthly commuter passes. SEPTA supplies a 5% discount and Drexel provides a 5% match, giving the student a 10% discount.

What types of commuter passes are available through the ComPass Program?
There are two types of passes available through the ComPass Program:

  • A Transpass enables you to travel and transfer with no limit on buses, trolleys and subways within the City of Philadelphia.
  • A Trailpass offers you unlimited travel up to the zone shown on the face of the pass on suburban bus routes, Regional Rail trains and all transit routes within the City.

How do I purchase a commuter pass through the ComPass Program?
Currently enrolled Drexel full-time students must purchase their passes online through the DrexelOne Portal. Click on the “Student” tab within DrexelOne and then click on the “Drexel SEPTA Student ComPass Program” tab to order your commuter pass by using a major credit card only. Orders are limited to one pass per month. Passes may not be ordered using transit checks.

Deadline to place orders is the 4th Monday of each month at 5PM, two months in advance.

Example: Deadline to order a November pass is the 4th Monday of September.

How will I receive my pass each month?
Passes will be available for pick-up from the Creese Information Desk (32nd and Chestnut Streets) one week prior to the issue date month with a valid Drexel Student ID and copy of purchase receipt.

Passes can also be picked up at the DragonCard Offices located on the Queen Lane Medical Campus and the Center City Hahnemann Campus.

What if I no longer need my pass that I have purchased?
Drexel University is not responsible for any Refunds for unwanted passes. The purchaser may be entitled to a full or prorated refund through SEPTA. For unwanted passes, the purchaser must communicate with SEPTA in writing and return the pass to:

SEPTA Refunds
1234 Market Street, 9th Floor
Philadelphia, PA 19107

The postmark on the envelope containing the returned pass is used by SEPTA to determine the amount of the refund. SEPTA recommends sending returned passes by certified mail or next day delivery, as passes lost in transit will not be refundable.

Passes in envelopes postmarked: Before the 1st of the valid month receive a 100% refund; From the 1st day till the 10th day receive a 50% refund; From the 11th day till the 20th day receive a 25% refund; and there are no refunds given After the 20th day.

Can I purchase parking permits for Rail Stations through the ComPass Program ?
SEPTA operates parking lots at a number of its train stations. Some stations have waiting lists; therefore participation in the ComPass Program does not guarantee a permit parking space. Participants in the ComPass program must complete a ComPass Parking Request Form indicating two choices for Regional Rail Train Stations and send completed form to SEPTA at the address indicated on the request form.

Once a Permit Space is available, a Permit-Buy-Mail Application will be sent to you by SEPTA. Complete the application and return it to the address indicated on the application. You will need to show proof of participation in the ComPass Program (a Drexel receipt of purchase will be accepted) and include a check or credit card information for payment. For more information about SEPTA Parking, call 215.580.8425.

For additional information regarding the ComPass Program, visit the Creese Information Desk located in the Creese Student Center at 32nd and Chestnut Streets or call 215.895.2515.
