Welcome Message from Associate Dean Anthony Lowman

ALowmanThe College of Engineering has played a vital role in the success of Drexel University for more than a century. The College of Engineering offers students a truly diverse academic learning and research environment, while continuing to build on its national reputation for excellence in engineering education and research.

The graduate programs at Drexel College of Engineering integrate evolving engineering science with the growing fields of engineering applications and processes. In emphasizing the Research Enterprise, the College of Engineering intends to “develop broadly educated individuals who are knowledgeable in modern theories, cognizant of the behavior of engineering systems, and aware of current mathematical and engineering tools that are useful for the solution of problems in complex processes and systems.”

The research enterprise of an institution serves as an important foundation of a rewarding graduate education. Drexel’s College of Engineering is dedicated to conducting “use-inspired” research in our state-of-the-art laboratories that are not only scientifically advanced, but contribute to the betterment of society as a whole. We have world-renowned faculty members who have secured Drexel’s leadership in emerging fields such as nanotechnology, biotechnology and information technology.

At Drexel, there are many exciting research opportunities that range from nanoscale drug delivery devices, advanced robotics, sustainable engineering, large-scale system integration and so much more. Additionally, asynchronous learning techniques (learning from a distance) continue to be incorporated into the M.S. and Ph.D. programs.  We invite you to participate in our programs, which are ranked among the best in the country by the Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report.

Best Regards,
Anthony Lowman
