Prospective: Undergraduate: Welcome Message

Are you thinking about a career in engineering?

As an engineer myself, I can assure you will be entering an exciting field complete with a wide range of professional opportunities. Whether you are interested in building bridges, producing metals, or designing biomedical applications, your choice of undergraduate school is critical in preparing you for your future career or graduate work. Drexel University's College of Engineering has a long and distinguished reputation for offering one of the nation's finest engineering programs. Our approach to engineering education is unique - as a Drexel student, here are some of the ways in which you will benefit:

Drexel's introduction to engineering is a national model of instruction that many other universities are now replicating. From day one, the Drexel Engineering Curriculum (or tDEC) will teach you the nuts and bolts of engineering and show how your field applies to basic sciences and liberal arts as well. In tDEC, you will also begin working in teams to design projects, which many engineering schools do not offer until much later in the course work.

You will study with the College of Engineering's world-class, award-winning faculty. Our professors have research experience in numerous facets of engineering and readily share their expertise with students in lectures and lab work.

Did you ever think you would be paid to learn? In Drexel's well-known co-operative education program, you will alternate class time with full-time employment at the area's cutting-edge companies and institutions.

As an engineering student at Drexel University, you will be part of the first fully wireless campus in the nation. Drexel's students and faculty can utilize the Internet from anywhere on campus. No matter where you are, you can look up your coursework or send messages to your professors, which makes learning easier and more accessible.

When you graduate Drexel, you will have practical work experience as well as your degree, and you will already be a step ahead of other engineering graduates. You may even begin to work with experienced Drexel alumni, who are highly successful both in the industry and fields. I encourage you to explore this website, which will give you more information on the College of Engineering and what sets it apart from other programs. I hope to see you on campus soon.
