FSAE Race Car and Ford's 2005 Mustang Event
|
| The College of Engineering, the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics and the Formula SAE race car team celebrated the strong performance of Drexel’s FSAE race car in this May’s international FSAE competition at the Silverdome on Tuesday, June 1st in the Quad. Students were able to meet Drexel’s FSAE team and sign up to be a part of next year’s success. After performing exceptionally well in many categories—including acceleration, fuel economy, time trials and endurance—the team’s goal is to be in the top 10 out of a possible 140 at next year’s competition. Ford’s new Mustang 2005 made an appearance at the event while making its Delaware Valley debut. The Mustang program’s chief designer was also there, Hau Thai-Tang, who was a Formula SAE participant at Carnegie Mellon. FSAE is a multi-disciplinary activity. Engineers, mathematicians, business majors and even artists and designers are all needed to help make the project a success. If you love cars and racing, and would like to sign up to help make next year the best Drexel Racing Team year ever, please contact Mark Fiorentino at mark.fiorentino@drexel.edu or visit the website http://www.pages.drexel.edu/fsae.
