Drexel University is proud to host FIRST Robotics Competition

Drexel University’s College of Engineering is proud to host FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), the world’s largest high school robotics competition for the seventh consecutive year. The goal of FIRST is to inspire high school students to achieve and to aspire to careers in science and technology.

March 24 through 26, 44 teams of high school students will display skills of talent, creativity, and problem-solving when their robots go to battle. Each team uses an identical supply of parts and software to design and build a remote-controlled robot capable of performing a predetermined set of tasks in a competition. The competition provides young people the opportunity to partner with educators and industry professionals. As the students think creatively and work as a team, they also learn about science, mathematics, engineering and technology.
