Dr. Eli Fromm Receives International Engineering Consortium’s Fellow Award

The International Engineering Consortium (IEC) presented Dr. Eli Fromm '62, '64, the Roy A. Brothers Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with the Board of Director's Fellow Award for his numerous outstanding contributions to the field of engineering during their Executive ComForum held this November in Palm Beach, Florida. The IEC Fellow Award was established in 1994 to recognize individuals who have provided the information industry with a superior level of sustained and significant service. Areas of service considered for the award include education, technology and industry leadership.

Dr. Fromm has served the University for more than 35 years and held a number of University academic leadership positions including vice president for educational research, vice provost for research and graduate studies, interim dean of College of Engineering, and interim head of the Department of Biosciences. In 2002, Dr. Fromm was selected by the National Academy of Engineering as the first ever recipient of the prestigious Bernard M. Gordon Prize for Innovation in Engineering and Technology Education in 2002 for leading his colleagues in an “engineering education revolution.”

The IEC is a nonprofit international organization dedicated to creating progress in the fields of business and technology and the university communities associated with various high-tech areas. Since 1944, the IEC has also provided educational opportunities for professionals, professors and students.
