The Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) proposal submitted by Drs. Karen Miu (PI), Dagmar Niebur (Co-PI) and Chika Nwankpa of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department has been selected for $3,723,851 of funding by the Department of Defense. Their five-year project, "Device Development for Remote Nondestructive Testing and Measurement of Power Systems," will focus on remote nondestructive testing and measurement of power systems for isolating and diagnosing failures in the power grid.

Drexel’s university partners on the project include Iowa State University, Texas A & M University, Mississippi State University and Northeastern University. Drexel’s proposal was one of only three chosen for funding from this highly competitive program.
