Dr. Jeremy Johnson
Department Head of Computer Science
The
Computer Science Department is happy to announce a successful conclusion
to their search for a permanent department head. Dr.
Jeremy Johnson, who was recommended by faculty, students
and the search committee, was named permanent department head of computer
science by Dean Selcuk Guceri on May 3, 2004.
Dr. Johnson has been on the Drexel faculty since receiving his Ph.D. in
199 from The Ohio State University. An internationally recognized researcher
in the fields of computer algebra, high performance computing and automated
performance tuning, he was promoted to full professor in 2002. He has
also been serving as interim department head since the fall of that 2002.
As interim department head, he has overseen Computer Science’s successful
transition to an independent department as well as their move to new space
in the University Crossings building.
