CoE Dean Shares Views on Women in the Workplace with SWE
Dr. Selçuk Güçeri, Dean of Drexel University’s CoE, sat down with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at a luncheon hosted by the chapter on April 27, 2009 to share his view on women working in a male-dominated field.

“We need diversity and to have women working in this field only brings an advantage to the sciences and engineering. At CoE, we encourage diversity in the workplace. It should be no other way” says Dr. Güçeri.

SWE hosted Dr. Güçeri and 30 other members of the college at the luncheon. Discussion ranged from professional tactics used in the work place to learning how to fit into an environment with all males. In addition, Dr. Güçeri , CoE faculty and staff shared ideas on how to improve recruitment of females into the field.
