CAEE Hosts Annual Civil Engineering |
Drexel’s Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering is pleased to host its annual CIVIL ENGINEERING ALUMNI LECTURE. This endowed lecture is given annually by an alumnus of the department who has achieved distinction in academia. This year, our lecturer will be Dr. George M. Hornberger '65, '67, the Ernest H. Ern Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences and the Associate Dean for the Sciences at the University of Virginia. Professor Hornberger received his B.S. in civil engineering in 1965 and his MS in Civil Engineering in 1967 from Drexel University, and received a Ph.D. in 1970 from Stanford University. Internationally recognized in the field of hydrology and water resources, Professor Hornberger is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union. He is also chair of the National Research Council Board on Earth Sciences and Resources and a past chair of the Commission on Geosciences, Environment and Resources. Dr. Hornberger’s lecture, entitled “Concentration-Discharge Relationships in Headwater Streams: Models and Muddles,” will be presented Tuesday May 11, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. in the Hill Conference Room, Room 240 LeBow Engineering.
