Pinto '98; The Steven Giegerich Memorial Endowed Fellowship is awarded each year to a deserving civil engineering graduate student who exemplifies kindness, humility, generosity and a willingness and love for work, with preference given to a resident of Pennsylvania. Jack Giegerich and his family created the scholarship to honor son Steven Giegerich, a civil engineering student who passed away during his senior year at Drexel. Each fall semester, an annual luncheon is held in honor of Steven Giegerich to bring past and current scholarship recipients together with members of the Giegerich family as well as with faculty who were instrumental in developing the scholarship. Since its inception, the Steven Giegerich Memorial Scholarship Fund has enabled dozens of students to earn graduate degrees in civil engineering from Drexel University. |
