Sweet Sixteen

Alia Sabur started her Ph.D. program at Drexel at the age of 14. She was one of the youngest Ph.D. candidates in the nation. One week before celebrating her sweet sixteen birthday, Alia was featured by Teen People Magazine as one of “20 Teens Who Will Change the World” during the April 2005 issue. Just a week after the issue was published Alia made her Carnegie Hall debut as principal clarinet on Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony with N.Y. Youth Symphony, considered the best youth orchestra in the nation.
