Technical Counselor with a National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education Center

NJCATE, A National Science Foundation Engineering Technology Center at Middlesex County College is offering paid internships and is seeking either upper-level undergraduate or graduate students for a 1-month opportunity as a Technical Counselor with the TechXploration summer camp at the Edison, NJ campus. 

The Individual must be energetic and enthusiastic about the material and be interested in working with high school students. The candidate will serve as a role model as a technical counselor and will provide supervision and direction for teen girls at a summer enrichment camp.  Individual must be committed to bringing young women into Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.  Requirements include experience in the following areas:

  • AutoCAD and hand sketching
  • Electronic components and controls
  • Project design, project management, construction techniques, safety, trouble shooting and repair
  • Measurement techniques, data collection and analysis

July, 5, - August 2, 2007: M-F / 6 hour day at our Edison, NJ Campus.  Housing is not provided.
