About us

Welcome to the Centralized Research Facilities at Drexel's College of Engineering

CRF include state-of-the-art modern analytical and imaging labs in the Bossone Research Building and a Micro Fabrication lab in the LeBow Building of the College of Engineering. CRF provide access to advanced equipment for electron microscopy, vibrational spectroscopy, elemental analysis, x-ray diffraction, nanoindentation and micro fabrication. Our mission is to facilitate maintenance and use of high-end research instruments that are not readily available to a single research group. A major focus of our unit is to train and educate students and researchers on how to employ cutting edge research instruments. The Centralized Facilities are available to Drexel students and researchers, and also to researchers from other universities and government and industrial laboratories. Completely assisted services are provided for infrequent use by untrained researchers from academia and industry.

The Centralized Research Facilities are announcing the results from the 2009 competitions for images, posters and scientific papers between all researchers using CRF instruments

The high number and quality of submissions in all categories surpassed our expectations, and the winning entries represent many others nearly as good. The CRF staff thanks all participants and congratulates the winners!

Zhorro Nikolov, Ed Basgall, Craig Johnson, Dee Breger and CRF Director Surya Kalidindi
