DECI Faculty Breakfast with Mark Orlowski, April 24

Mark Orlowski is Founder and Executive Director of the Sustainable Endowments Institute, a nonprofit organization engaged in research and education to advance sustainability in campus operations and endowment practices.

Mr. Orlowski heads a team that authors the Institute’s annual College Sustainability Report Card, which evaluates and grades key elements of sustainability at United States and Canadian universities. The Report Card is designed to help schools learn from each other's experiences and adapt campus and endowment sustainability policies that work.

He spent the morning with Drexel Engineering Cities Initiative, Drexel faculty, and students involved in Drexel’s Committee for Sustainability to discuss how the Report Card was designed and how Drexel might use it as a tool to measure progress towards creating a more sustainable campus.

DECI’s Lunch with Howard Frumkin, April 24

DECI worked with the School of Public Health to welcome Howard Frumkin for a lunchtime discussion of DECI’s research efforts. Dr. Frumkin is the Director of the National Center for Environmental Health/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Joining us at lunch were Provost Stephen Director and Vice Provost for Research Ken Blank.
