Volume V, Issue 1, Spring 2007

This issue of Writing Centered has a special focus. It features the creative writing of faculty who participated in WoW, the Week of Writing, sponsored by the Department of English and Philosophy, that was held in Mandell Theater lobby on May 14th, 15th, and 16th. In reading poems, stories, and parts of novels from their own creative writing, the instructors who participated in WoW conveyed the excitement and pleasure that writing offers both to the writers themselves and to their audience. Another plus for WoW is that our students could see that the creative writers they were listening to are also professors who help students to navigate and master the conventions of academic discourse.
