James Herbert
James D. Herbert currently serves as Professor of Psychology, Director of the
Anxiety Treatment and Research Program at Drexel, and Associate Dean in the
College of Arts and Sciences. He pursued his undergraduate work at the University of Texas at Austin and liberal arts studies in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, He received his doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and completed a clinical internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.
He currently resides in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. He enjoys Karate, running and all forms of intellectual debate.

Evan Forman Evan received his B.A. from Cornell University, and his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester in 1999. He completed clinical internships and fellowships at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Beck Institute with specialties in cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-related disorders and suicidality.
Currently he serves as an Assistant Professor and the coordinator of
practicum training in the Department of Psychology as well as the
Associate Director of Drexel’s center city Student Counseling
Center. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate psychology
courses including Principles of Psychotherapy, Psychotherapy
Theories, and Theories and Practice of Clinical Psychology. He lives
in Philadelphia with his wife and their 3-year-old son. Interests
include running, cycling, backpacking and traveling.

Jessica Collins
Jessica is a Master’s student in the Drexel psychology program. She is
originally from Yardley, PA and received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola
College in Maryland. Her areas of interest include anxiety disorders,
adolescents, and body image issues. She also enjoys exploring Philadelphia,
reading, running, and photography.

Erica England
Erica is from Yarmouth, Maine and received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Amherst College. She is
a doctoral student and is currently doing preliminary work on her Master’s Thesis in the area of Relational Frame Theory and cognitive defusion. Her research interests include anxiety disorders, treatment outcome research, empirically supported treatments, and Relational Frame Theory.
She currently works as a therapist in the Social Anxiety Treatment Program. Erica enjoys trying new Philadelphia restaurants and exploring the city's museums and cultural opportunities.

 | Elizabeth Goetter Elizabeth is from Denver, Colorado where she received her B.S. in
psychology from Regis University. She spent the last year working as a
research assistant at the Kempe Center, a child abuse treatment and
prevention facility. She is a doctoral student at Drexel University's clinical psychology program. Her research
interests include the etiology of anxiety and depression and the
efficacy of mindfulness and acceptance based interventions in the
treatment of these disorders. Elizabeth's other interests include cooking and photography. She also
enjoys music, trivia, and playing Scrabble.

Kimberly Hoffman
Kimberly is a student in the clinical psychology doctoral program. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Villanova University in 2003. In the fall of 2006, she proposed her Master’s Thesis, an Acceptance-based Behavioral Treatment for Weight Loss. Kimberly is interested in research that examines cognitive-behavioral and acceptance-based psychotherapies in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders as well as for the treatment of obesity. She has worked as a therapist in the Social Anxiety Treatment Program and the Student Counseling Center. Kimberly
is currently completing a practicum rotation in the Adolescent and Eating Disorder Units at Friends Hospital. Kimberly enjoys reading in coffee shops and spending time with friends.

Ethan Moitra
Ethan is from Cleveland, Ohio and received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia. He is currently preparing to propose his Master's Thesis in the summer of 2006, which will look at the roles of behavioral and experiential avoidance in mediating the relationship between social anxiety and depression. His interests include social anxiety, treatment efficacy research, and work with HIV-positive individuals. His duties include data manager for both clinics plus therapist in the Social Anxiety Treatment Program and the Student Counseling Center. Ethan enjoys cooking, watching movies, and attending live music events in Philadelphia.

 | Jennie Park
Jennie's current research interests include the course and treatment of mood and
anxiety disorders, particularly, the neurobiological mechanisms and early
childhood behavioral patterns that may confer vulnerability to depression
and anxiety. After graduating with a BA from Stony Brook University, she
worked as the EEG Coordinator in the Stony Brook Temperament Study,
performing EEGs on 3-yr old children. She enjoys traveling, trying different
types of food, playing and watching sports, and attempting crossword
puzzles. She also love good conversation, thunderstorms, Mr. Met, Spiderman,
and, of course, my dog, Cubby! |

Lori Tuscan
Lori is originally from Madison, Maine and received a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania. She is a student in the Master’s experimental psychology program and works in the Social Anxiety Treatment and Research Program. She is currently working on her thesis proposal which will use functional near-infrared spectroscopy to research the biological basis of social phobia. Her interests include anxiety disorders, the role of the frontal lobes in psychopathology, and rehabilitation strategies in various types of agnosia. Her future plans include obtaining a PhD in clinical psychology and promoting further integration of biological research into clinical psychology and its applications. Lori enjoys traveling, camping, reading, and learning about the history of science and technology.

 | Peter Yeomans Peter is a resident of Philadelphia and received his Bachelor's degree from Harvard University. In the winter of 2006 he defended his Masters Thesis on the relationship between exposure to Western trauma discourse and the nature of traumatic stress symptoms in a rural Burundian sample. Peter plans on applying an experimental design to a similar topic for his dissertation. His interests include cultural influences of psychopathology, PTSD,
treatment efficacy research, and the current rise of acceptance and
mindfulness-based therapeutic frameworks.

Erica Yuen
Erica is a student in the clinical psychology doctoral program. She grew up in New
Jersey, and received her bachelor's degree from Rutgers University where she
studied computer science, psychology, and English. Her research interests include CBT, ACT, and other clinical treatments for adult anxiety and depressive disorders.
She currently works as a therapist at the Drexel Student Counseling Center and
the Social Anxiety Treatment Program. Her hobbies include reading, writing, biking, and traveling. She also loves chocolate-covered popcorn,
The Sims, and Bon Jovi.

Kara Blacker Kara is a Master's student in the Drexel
psychology program. She is from Bridgeport, Ohio. She
has a B.A. from Wheeling Jesuit University, where she played soccer.
Currently she is very interested in running; her next big event is
the Philly half-marathon in September.

 | Lily Brown Lily is from Leonardtown, Maryland and is working toward her Bachelor’s
degree in Psychology. Her research interests include anxiety and
depression. She is currently working on her senior thesis which will
include ACT as a treatment option for test anxiety. She enjoys cheerleading and finding new places to eat in
the city.

Amanda Feinstein
Amanda received her B.A. from Hampshire College after completing a thesis on the topic of suffering, in the context of chronic pain. Amanda hopes to pursue research on the management of chronic pain through the use of mindfulness-based and ACT interventions. Her research interests have been inspired by some of her extracurricular activities, which include volunteering with the Arthritis Foundation and teaching therapeutic yoga. She loves the mountains, listening to music, practicing yoga and playing the harmonium.

 | Alex Johnson Alex is an
undergraduate in the BS Psychology program at Drexel University. She is currently working on her senior thesis project on parenting. Her research interests include: how parenting practices effect the psychological development of adolescents and adults, anxiety disorders, and social psychology. She is the current Drexel Chapter President of Psi Chi and VIEW (Violence Information & Education for Women). Alex’s interests include coffee, exercising, puppies, and learning more about psychology. |

Kathleen Marquez Kathleen is a Master's student from Vineland, New Jersey and received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania. She is currently preparing to propose her Master's Thesis on rapid response to treatment, specifically looking at CBT and ACT and what mediates rapid response in both in a depressed population. Kathleen's research interests are centered on mood disorders and treatment outcome. She is a screening coordinator at the Student Counseling Center and is part of the ongoing research study being conducted that examines treatment outcome for CBT and ACT. She enjoys traveling and trying different, exotic cuisines.

Kathleen McGrath
Katie is a native of Philadelphia. She received her B.A. from The George Washington University. Katie’s thesis, which reports on the development and validation of the Drexel University ACT/CBT therapist adherence and competence scale, will be defended in the summer of 2006. Her research interests include: treatment integrity; the evaluation of CBT and ACT for the treatment of anxiety disorders; therapeutic processes, mechanisms of action, and outcomes. Clinically, Katie is interested in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, and she is currently completing a practicum at the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety. Katie enjoys independent films and playing with her dog Lucy. One day she hopes to travel the world by freighter ship.
