Dean's Seminars: Interested in time travel? Indie fashion in Indonesia?

Learn about the exciting research being done by faculty in all departments across the College! Speakers present their work in layman’s terms, so that students and faculty from all majors can understand, thus encouraging interdisciplinary discussion.

D3s: Great food, eye-opening conversation - and NO homework!

Students, faculty, and outside experts from diverse fields of study, come together to share an educational experience beyond the classroom. Past topics have ranged from sustainable eating to abortion rights to the interactions of religion and science.

D3's include a brief presentation (panel discussion, lecture, or film screening), followed by dinner and discussion.

Day: Every other Wednesday, beginning on Week 3

Time: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted)

Place: Faculty Club, 6th Floor MacAlister Hall (33rd & Chestnut Streets)

Meet and Greets

The College of Arts and Sciences' quarterly Meet and Greets are an excellent opportunity for all members of the CoAS community to meet and connect in a relaxed social setting. Students have the opportunity to win prizes, make valuable contacts and establish new friendships.

What happens at a Meet and Greet?

  • Students and faculty mingle and enjoy a tasty reception.
  • Students receive raffle tickets from faculty members.
  • Students write their name on tickets and enter into drawing.
  • The Dean draws 6 - 8 names and winners receive prizes ranging from Barnes & Nobles gift certificates to an iPod shuffle!
