Freshman Writing Program Director Dr. Rebecca Ingalls and colleagues explore the intricacies of plagiarism in their new book Critical Conversations About Plagiarism (Parlor Press, 2012)—a project 6 years in the making. The text, an edited collection directed at, and with pedagogical scaffolding for, undergraduates and graduate students, deeply examines not the how-not-to of plagiarism, but rather its cultural constructions both here and abroad. Topics include popular culture, copyright and intellectual property, ESL pedagogy, ownership and collaboration, plagiarism detection software.
