Dr. Ken Lacovara and Biology Department Grads to Appear on History Channel

April 26, 2010 — On Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 10a.m., Dr. Kenneth Lacovara, associate professor of biology, and several graduates of CoAS’ biology department will appear in the History Channel documentary Prehistoric Monsters Revealed.

About the show: “Ninety-nine percent of all animal and sea creatures who ever lived have become extinct. Watch as some of the most bizarre and strangest creatures are brought back to life. Meet the nothronychus (a strange amalgam of bird and sloth), the anomalocarus (a 7-foot shrimp), as well as saber-toothed cats, mastodons and wooly rhinoceros. Advanced computer graphics, location shooting and expert interviews will reveal detailed illustrations of what these ancient monsters looked like, where and how they lived, and how they died.”
