Scholarship in World History

 

Students with a 3.0 GPA or higher in any major are invited to submit an essay of 2500 words on some aspect of World History.  Areas of interest are Asia, Africa, Latin America, Australia, and Eastern Europe.  Essays on the United States, Canada , and Western Europe will be accepted if they are comparative or cross-cultural.

 

The best essays will clearly articulate an original thesis, be argued persuasively, and effectively use evidence and counter-evidence.

 

Submit three copies of your essay and a cover letter confirming that you have completed or are enrolled in at least 2 courses with a World History perspective to:

The submission deadline is 4:00 PM on APRIL 22, 2008.

 

The award will be presented at the College of Arts and Sciences Honors Day Ceremony, May 22, 2008.  Up to $4000 in scholarship funds will be distributed to the authors of winning essays.
