This works by simple physics. Greenhouse gases absorb infrared (heat) radiation from the earth, especially at night, and hold in the heat."

"We have known that since I was a postdoc with David Gates in 1970. At that time we predicted that if the level of CO2 and other greenhouse gases continued to rise the earth would warm. Now we have important information - glaciers in Antarctica are melting and that will raise sea levels by a meter by 2050."
