Dr. Saar has an AAUW Doctoral Fellowship and is a Drexel Provost Fellow. She also won a Drexel Teaching Award. Her published works include Eighteenth-Century Anglo American Women Writers and articles in Early American Literature, MELUS, BMA and Louisiana Literature. She is on the Editorial Board for the Rocky Mountain Review and the Executive Board for the East-Central American Society for English Century Studies. She is the former Director of Women's Studies.

Dr. Saar teaches several courses for the Department of English and Philosophy, including The Beats and The Making of Revolutionary Philadelphia.
