Dr. Passow has articles in scholarly and popular journals including The Journal of Palliative Care and Midstream. She is also featured nin several essay collections, including Culture and the Creation of Memory Repertoires. She is the recipient of the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship, the Pennsylvania Humanities Council Visting Scholar of Medical Humanities Grant, and the John Templeton Foundation Curricular Grant for Spirituality and Medicine.

Dr. Passow teaches several courses for the Department of English and Philosophy, including The Physician in Literature and Film, Illness and Healing in Literature, American Jewish Literature, and Holocaust Testimonies.
