Dr. DeLancey is the Founding Editor of BMa: The Sonia Sanchez Literary Review and has articles in several journals, including Afrocentric Scholar, The Literary Griot, Journal of Minorities and Women in Science, Transformations, and The Womanist. She also has essays in numerous books, including CLC: Excerpts from the Criticism of the Worlds of Today's Novelists, Poets, Playwrights and Other Creative Writers; Images of the Black Male in Film; Language and the African American Literary Imagination; Wings of Gauze; Women in World History; and Women in Science.

Dr. DeLancey teaches several courses in the Department of English and Philosophy, including American Literature and African American Literature.
