Dr. Arms is the author of Humanities for the Engineering Curriculum and a chapter in Practical Engineering Design. She has published several scholarly articles on learning communities and faculty development, and received grants from NSF and FIPSE to fund those activities. Her current efforts have led to the development of English Alive: A Hybrid Online Learning Community. She is also a recipient of the Lindback Teaching Award.

Dr. Arms' courses include English Alive sections in the Freshman Sequence and Literature of the Holocausts.
