Dr. Amato's areas of concentration are ethics and social-political philosophy. He has been teaching since 1989. His research interests include critical theory, Marxism, and hermeneutics. He has had articles in several scholarly journals, including Human Nature Review, Rethinking Marxism, and Radical Philosophy Review. His personal webpage is primarily geared towards current and former students and provides a selection of resources that might be helpful and/or interesting in connection with philosophy classes as well as related studies, projects, and pursuits. He is the advisor of The Drexel Philosophy Club.

Dr. Amato teaches several courses in the Department of English and Philosophy, including Critical Reasoning, Ethics, and History of Philosophy.
