Graduate work that has led to an advanced degree will be considered. Applicants who wish to take additional courses to enhance their application and preparation are encouraged to continue to their studies in the biological sciences.
Any candidate who submits an application that is deemed competitive will be offered the opportunity to interview with the Program. Overall, the interview is a time for the faculty of the program to learn more about the applicant as well as an opportunity for the applicant to discover more about the program. Typically, current students are available during the interview times to give tours of the facilities as well as offer their insights into the program.
Students are primarily selected for admission into the DPT Program based upon their perceived ability to successfully complete the curriculum. To make this judgment, the Program’s Admissions Committee, uses the materials submitted by the applicant, GRE scores, recommendation and interview. No special consideration is given to state residents over nonresidents and there is no difference in tuition costs.
Students are encouraged to apply at any time as applications are accepted on a rolling basis. There is not a deadline. However since applications are reviewed and admission decisions made on a rolling basis, applicants are encouraged to apply early.
The faculty is pleased with the quality of the applicants that apply and matriculate to our program. For the classes that entered in 2007, the students had the following qualifications:
- Mean Cumulative GPA: 3.44
- Mean Cumulative Science GPA: 3.24
- Mean GRE scores: 445 verbal, 638 quantitative and 4.4 analytical
