Dr. Patrick Auth, director, physician assistant program is the Co-Editor for Physician Assistant Review Book, 3rd edition, recently published by Lippincott Williams and Wilkins. Kristen Frank, Hahnemann Physician Assistant Class of 2008 co-authored the case report “Pericardial Effusion and Developing Tamponade in a 30-year-old man” in the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, July, 2008.

Gretchen has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Gretchen has joined a select number of outstanding PAs who have distinguished themselves among their colleagues, as well as in their communities, by their service to the physician assistant profession, their commitment to advancing health care for all people, and by their exemplary personal and professional development.
Charles Stream, MPH, PA-C and Joseph Krolikowski, MHS, PA-C, Clinical Instructors in the Physician Assistant Program were awarded best poster for original research at the American Academy of Physician Assistant Conference. The research poster was an "Analysis of Grade Point Average and First-time PANCE Performance Among Graduate/Undergraduate and Full-time/Part-time Status Students of the Drexel University PA Program.
Student Recognition and Awards
Aviva Fink, Class of 2007 Hahnemann Physician Assistant Program has been awarded a national 2007 Physician Assistant Foundation Scholarship. The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. The organization awards scholarships annually to those with outstanding awards in academic achievement combined with commitment to community service and quality health care service.
Aida Gallagher, Hahnemann Physician Assistant Class of 2008 has been named the 3rd place winner for the 2007 Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistant Diversity Writing Competition. Aida's essay was "Critique of a Patient Education Material." Aida will receive her award at the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistant Conference, October, 2007.
Ms. Opalach, will join 39 medical and health professions students from around the country with similar interests in prevention, leadership and public health at its meeting June 21-24, 2007. The Paul Ambrose Scholars Program is sponsored by the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR) and the Office of Disease Prevention and health Promotion (ODPHP) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), in collaboration with the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and Community Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH).
