MSN Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner
The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner provides care to women throughout the female lifespan, with an emphasis on reproductive and gynecologic health needs. They also provide well-woman care, prenatal, and postpartum care, in primary care setting as well as in women's health specialty practices.
The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) Track will prepare nurse practitioners for roles as advance practice clinicians, educators, researchers and leaders in a collaborative, multidisciplinary health care environment. The program is designed to include competencies and skill sets required for today’s Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner as knowledge expands, health care systems evolve, technology advances, and practice changes in response to current needs and evidence based research.
Key Program Features:
- Clinically current faculty.
- Two on campus Residency Visits with simulated clinical learning experiences conducted in our new state of the art Multidisciplinary Patient Simulation Lab.
- The Advanced Physical Assessment course is offered as an on-line course with an on-campus component. Students are required to come to campus twice during the course: once for a midterm assessment and evaluation, and again at the end of the course for a final re-demonstration of clinical assessment skills. The end of the course visit is scheduled during the required NP Summer Residency Visit.

This is a 58 credit graduate program. It is designed for part-time attendance by working nurses. A total of 640 clinical hours are completed in the last year of the program. The four clinical practicum courses require two 8 hour clinical days per week.
