Previous Work Experience |
Minimum two years recent full- time critical care experience that provide the applicant with the ability to assess and manage critically ill patients with varying levels of acuity. Applicants whose professional work experience includes the emergency department or post anesthesia care unit will be considered for admission based on adequate experience with invasive monitoring, vasoactive drug titration, and mechanically ventilated patients . |

*International Applicants, as well as Immigrants to the U.S. and U.S. Permanent Residents, whose native language is not English, and who have not received a Bachelor’s degree or higher in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand or the United Kingdom, and show proficiency in English speaking as well as listening, writing and reading. US citizens born on US military bases abroad may be waived from the TOEFL requirement after providing documentation of this status. Otherwise, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- If you take the new TOEFLiBT exam you are required to have a minimum combined score for the listening, writing and reading sections of 79 Plus a speaking section score of 26 or higher.
- If you take the TOEFL, you are required to have a minimum score of 550 or higher and a Test of Spoken English score (TSE) of 55 or higher

The Nurse Anesthesia program utilizes a rolling admission process, with interviews being conducted throughout the year. Candidates who meet the admission criteria are invited for a personal interview with the program’s admission committee. The above criteria and personal interview will serve as the basis to accept/reject each candidate. Candidates will be notified of the committee’s decision approximately two to four weeks after the interview. Candidates who are accepted into the program are eligible to take MSN core courses prior to beginning the program fulltime.
Current Drexel University undergraduate nursing students who demonstrate an exceptional academic and clinical aptitude and are interested in pursuing a career in Nurse Anesthesia may apply for the Early Acceptance Assurance program.

Once a student has completed 75% of the ACE or Co-op Program curriculum, it is recommended that they submit an application to the Nurse Anesthesia Program. Acceptance is contingent upon meeting the above criteria and acceptance by the Nurse Anesthesia Program Admissions Committee.
