Dr. Stephen Gambescia Quoted in Inquirer Article about Foul Language at Work

May 30, 2013 — Dr. Stephen Gambescia, an associate clinical professor and Assistant Dean of Academic and Student Affairs in the College of Nursing and Health Professions, was quoted in a May 26 Philadelphia Inquirer article about foul language in the work setting. Dr. Gambescia was given the final word since he has made comments in this column before. “Poor, inappropriate, or offensive language just does not work in public, in the workplace, and at school,” he said. “While some apologists can be found to defend poor or bad language under the guise of freedom of speech, open-mindedness, or, interestingly enough, diversity, we still come to the conclusion that, regardless of the history, context, and who used what type of language and got away with it, it just does not work.”
