Nyree Dardarian Featured in Women’s Health Article About Coffee
November 1, 2012 — Nyree Dardarian, a Registered Dietitian and instructor in the Nutrition Sciences Department, was interviewed for a Women’s Health magazine article about drinking coffee. The article discusses some of the health benefits found in every cup, including coffee’s potential ability to prevent Parkinson’s disease, weight gain, high blood pressure, certain cancers, and mental decline. Nyree is quoted directly by Women’s Health when she warns about the effects drinking too much coffee can have on the body. “Coffee is a natural stimulant,” she began. “High intake can bring on headaches, increased heart rate, or insomnia.” Nyree told the magazine that it’s best to limit your “daily fix” to 4 six-ounce cups and to finish drinking the last cup at least four hours before bedtime.
