Many health care professions like physical therapy, nursing, physician assistant and mental health practice and radiology technology are assuming increasingly important roles as the healthcare system struggles to reform. If you are unsure of what health profession you want to pursue, a new program’ Pathways to the Health Professions’ provides the opportunity for exploration while you complete the foundation necessary for many clinical disciplines.

An increasingly diverse and aging population is demanding
more culturally competent care. A health care system, struggling with issues of safety and quality, requires its practitioners to use cutting edge technologies that provide instant, accurate information at the point of care. Drexel University, College of Nursing and Health Professions provides health care programs that are innovative, clinical relevant, and technology infused. Here are just a few highlights:

  • The CNHP includes more than 12 nursing and health professions programs, 128
    full time faculty and affiliations with some of the finest teaching hospitals in the
    United States.
  • Undergraduate programs such as Pathways to the Health Professions and
    Nursing uses the co-operative education model where full, paid employment in
    the related field of study is part of the curriculum.
  • All nursing and health professions programs in the College hold accreditation
    from their respective accrediting bodies.
  • The CNHP offers more than 20 fully online programs and web enhances all
    clinical and didactic courses to enhance learning and to create convenience for
    the student.
  • The College includes 5 doctoral programs, the entry level Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, the PhD in Rehab Sciences, the Post-Professional DPT programs, the Ph.D. in Couple in Family Therapy Program and the Doctor
    of Nursing Practice Program.
  • The Creative Arts Therapies Program, also unique in the United States, includes Dance, Art and Music Therapy preparing master’s level practitioners.
  • The Couple and Family Therapy Program is a leader in the culturally competent
    care of diverse families.
  • The BSN Co-Op Program, leading to licensure as a registered nurse, is built on the Drexel University Cooperative Education model and is only the second of its kind, learn and earn, program in the United States.
  • The Accelerated Career Entry Nursing Program facilitates the attainment of a BSN in 11 months for those who have earned a bachelors degree in another field and who wish to change careers.
  • All clinical programs in the College extensively use sophisticated technologies to enhance decision support at the point of care and incorporate patient simulation
    experiences in the Colleges new digital video interdisciplinary simulation center.
  • The Physician Assistant Program is one of the earliest and well-developed
    programs of its kind in the country. Physician Assistants graduate with a Masters
    in Health Sciences and the right to sit for PA certification
  • The Nurse Anesthesia Program has been producing nurse anesthetists for 28
    years and has graduated more than 300 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.
  • Mental Health Sciences Programs include a degree in Behavioral Health Counseling to prepare front line mental health specialists.
  • Department in Radiologic Technology lead to exciting careers in an increasingly technological healthcare system.
  • The CNHP operates its own state of the art, federally qualified, nurse managed health center in North Philadelphia situated among four public housing developments. There is a focus in the College on addressing health disparities.
  • Leading researchers in the rehabilitation sciences, nursing and couple and family therapy are studying important issues that will ultimately improve health care.
