Health-Services:
Tracks for the Health-Services Administration Program
Tracks
Students may pursue one applicable track from the following three tracks. Once enrolled in a track, any student wishing to change tracks must complete a “Change of Status” form, subject to the approval of the director of the Health Services Administration Program. The tuition is determined by the track.
Co-Operative Education Track (4COP)
This track is designed for freshmen pursuing the HSA curriculum full-time during the day and is available, in some cases, to transfer students, depending on the number of transfer credits. A co-operative (co-op) experience consisting of two-consecutive terms (6 months) during the first half or second half of the junior year is a part of this track. The HSA co-op is directed toward activities that will expose students to the work environments of various settings in health-services administration. These work settings will provide students with the opportunity to observe health-services administrators, managers, staff, and, in some cases, health-care providers so that students can assess their potential for undertaking this administrative career path.
Non-co-operative Education Track (NCOP)
This non-co-op track is available to full-time and part-time students, including eligible transfer students, wishing to pursue the HSA major by combining daytime, evening, online, and, in some cases, Saturday courses.
The non-co-op track is also available to transfer students who have already completed 90 quarter credits and who wish to complete the B.S. degree in HSA completely online. In cases where the individual has over 90 transferable quarter credits , up to 135 quarter credits may be accepted, if the additional courses are the equivalents of the program courses in health-services administration (namely, those courses coded HSAD). Students pursing this track are considered part-time students, regardless of the number of credits taken per quarter.
Saturday Scholars(non-co-op) Track
Individuals holding a minimum of 90 approved quarter credits and wishing to complete the B.S. degree in HSA exclusively on Saturdays in as little as two years may wish to apply through Drexel’s accelerated Saturday Scholars Program. In cases where the individual has over 90 transferable quarter credits, up to 135 quarter credits may be accepted, if the additional courses are the equivalents of the program courses in health-services administration (namely, those courses coded HSAD). Students pursing this track are considered part-time students, regardless of the number of credits taken per quarter.
A special application form is required for the Saturday Scholars Program.
