Cooperative
Education (Co-op)
Drexel
University has long been known for its cooperative education (co-op)
programs through which students mix periods of full-time, career-related
employment with their studies. Co-op employment, which consists
of two consecutive quarters during the first half or second half
of the junior year, is a part of the Health Services Administration
curriculum. The co-op experience of the Health-Services Administration
curriculum is directed toward activities that will expose students
to the work environments of various health-services-administration
settings. These work settings will provide students with the opportunity
to observe health-services administrators, managers, staff, as well
as, in some cases, health-care providers so that students can assess
their potentials for undertaking this administrative career path.
Non-Co-op
Full-Time and Part-Time Options
These options are available for individuals, including
transfer students seeking to pursue the Health Services Administration
major in a nontraditional mode by combining daytime, evening, online,
and Saturday courses. In addition, the Saturday Scholars Program
in Health Services Administration is a part-time accelerated Saturday-only
program available to transfer students. (See Section on Transfer
Students)

Transfer Students
General Education—(to be updated)
Full-Time
Curriculum with Co-op (chart converstion for students transferring
from semester-credit-based institutions)
Transfer students are eligible for the full-time curriculum
with co-op depending on the number of approved transfer credits.
Non-Co-op
Full-Time and Part-Time Options (include chart conversion for students
transferring from semester-credit-based insitutions)
Transfer students may also apply to the non-co-op full-time
or part-time options. In most cases 90 approved quarter credits
(or 60 approved semester credits) may be accepted for either option.
However, in cases where the individual has a strong academic background
in health-services administration from accredited institutions,
up to 135 approved quarter credits (90 approved semester) credits
may be accepted for either option, depending on the nature of the
courses. Transfer students pursing either the full-time curriculum
without co-op or part-time curriculum may pursue courses combining
daytime, evening, online, and Saturday courses.
Saturday
Scholars Program (see section on Accelerated Part-Time Program)
Transfer students holding a minimum of 90 approved quarter credits
(60 approved semester credits) and wishing to complete their B.S.
degrees in Health Services Administration exclusively on Saturdays
may wish to apply to the Saturday Scholars Program in Health Services
Administration. However, in cases where a student does not hold
the minimum approved credits, accommodations may be made with the
approval of the director of the program. In cases where the individual
has a strong academic background in health-services administration
from accredited institutions, up to 135 approved quarter credits
(90 approved semester) credits may be accepted for either option,
depending on the nature of the courses. A special application is
required for the Saturday Scholars Program. (For more information
