Dr. Ward is a Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She currently teaches The Politics of Health to DrNP students, and Health Promotion, Community Public Health, and Research courses to undergraduate nursing students.
Her doctoral dissertation (2002, Binghamton University, NY) entitled “Determinants of Health for Hispanic Migrant Farmworkers” was the first piece in a program of research aimed at promoting justice for farmworkers. After earning her Ph.D., Dr. Ward completed a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship at the International Center of Research for Women, Children, and Vulnerable Families in the School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. Her current research focuses on cultural and psychosocial influences on health and workplace safety.
