Mary Ellen Glasgow is associate dean in the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she has overall responsibility for undergraduate nursing and health professions programs, the MSN Programs, and Continuing Nursing Education. This senior academic administrative position includes oversight of curricular, research, faculty development and evaluation, institutional and accrediting body quality assessment, and fiscal planning and evaluation activities for a dozen nursing and health professions degree programs and specialties serving 2,500 students in the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Drexel.

Dr. Glasgow holds tenure and rank of associate professor. Recent courses taught include Research Basis of Nursing, Biotherapeutics and Nursing Interventions, Comprehensive Adult Nursing I, Pharmacology for Nursing I, Global Health and Policy Issues, Legal Issues Confronting the Nursing Faculty and Administrator, and Doctor of Nursing Practice Role Practicum.

Dr. Glasgow has been a practicing nurse in a variety of nursing specialty units and critical care units, such as Oncology/Hematology, Bone Marrow Transplantation, and Cardiovascular Intensive Care, at Hahnemann University Hospital and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Her clinical research interests are in the psychosocial aspects of patients receiving bone marrow transplants and nursing education.

Dr. Glasgow took an early leadership role in nursing education and leadership working in several positions in staff nurse development before moving into higher education. She was director of the undergraduate nursing program, and an assistant dean for special projects at Hahnemann University School of Nursing. As Director of Undergraduate Nursing Programs in the College of Nursing & Health Professions, Dr. Glasgow developed the curriculum and student recruitment plans for Accelerated Career Entry BSN program, RN-BSN On-line Program, BSN Co-op Program, and Pathways to Health Professions—undergraduate students complete a B.S. in Health Sciences to prepare for entry to health professional programs at the graduate level. She has supervised the administration of a Clinical Learning Resource Center, and Informatics program in its early development.

Dr. Glasgow is well recognized for scholarly publications and conference presentations in the area of nursing education and leadership, including undergraduate and accelerated learning nursing curriculum innovation, legal implications for nursing faculty and academic administrators, simulated patient learning, coaching for leadership, technology infused nursing education, and career preparation for academic administrators. She has been a principal investigator or co-investigator for oncology, nursing leadership, education, and health professions workforce development grants from funding sources such as Oncology Nursing Foundation, Centers for Disease Control, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, The Health Care Improvement Foundation, and National Institute of Standards and Technology.

Dr.Glasgow has received several awards recognizing her achievements in nursing leadership and teaching: Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellow, 2009; Oncology Nursing Society 2000 Foundation Pharmacia & Upjohn Ann Olsen Doctoral Scholarship; MCP Hahnemann Trustees Award for Teaching Excellence, 1997; Hahnemann University Alumna of the Year, 1989; Excellence in Clinical Practice Award by Hahnemann University Hospital, 1985.

In addition, Dr. Glasgow is on the Editorial Board for Holistic Nursing Practice and Oncology Nursing Forum. She also serves as the Associate Editor for Oncology Nursing Forum responsible for the Leadership and Professional Development Feature.
